Material Description and Collation

The manuscript is a perforated rolled sheet of paper, watermarked with an image of a mailed arm & battle-axe and below it: "FABRIQUÉ EN ÉCOSSE". The emendation is in Joyce’s hand in black ink. This manuscript is the same kind of paper as MSS VI.I.1, I.2, I.43, and VI.J.4; all were probably torn from the same or similar tablets or blocks of sheets.


Measurements

The manuscript measures 19.0 x 13.3 cm.


Contents

The manuscript is an extradraft sheet with instructions to Beach or the printers to emend the page proofs (BL MS 47478, fs. 36–41) of transition 11 (February1928), though none of the revisions were incorporated in the printed text. See transition 11, 11.03–04, 11.05, and 16.30 as well as FW 289.04–05, 289.06, and 300.18.
