Material Description and Collation

The manuscript is a loose sheet of blue stationery with Joyce’s address printed in the top right margin of the recto in blue ink: "2, Square Robiac | 192, rue de Grenelle". Joyce used the sheet horizontally; the emendations are in Joyce’s hand in lead pencil only on the recto; the verso is blank. This is the same kind of paper as MSS VI.E.6.a, E.6.b, and VI.I.36.


Measurements

The sheet measures 26.9 x 21.0 cm.

The manuscript is an extradraft sheet that instructs Beach to emend a (missing) copy of the second typescript. See FW 447.04–05, 450.14, 455.11–12, and 526.33.

Dating

Joyce probably wrote this manuscript in June–early August 1926.


Notes

Joyce also made all of the emendations on the extant pages of a copy of the typescript (BL 47483, fs. 172, 174, and 176; JJA 57.272, 274, and 276).
