UB Searching Scavenger Hunt

The UB Searching Scavenger Hunt is a fun and engaging game where participants search for answers to University Libraries-themed questions and challenges. Designed to help you explore library resources in an interactive way, this scavenger hunt is open to all UB students and free to enter. You can play solo or form a team of up to four people.

The scavenger hunt will take place from Monday, October 20, 2025, to Friday, October 31, 2025. Sign-ups begin on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and you’re welcome to join at any point throughout the month. If you join late, no worries—you can catch up on any missed challenges.

To participate, simply complete the UB Searching sign-up form. New challenge questions will be posted weekly during the event, and you can choose to tackle them one week at a time or complete them all at once before the deadline. All submissions must be in by Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Scores will be updated weekly so you can track your team’s progress on our program page.

Participants have the chance to win up to $100 in gift cards to Tops, Wegmans, Starbucks, or the university bookstore. (Please note: Terms and conditions apply. If winners are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, each must complete a W-8BEN form to receive their prize.)

In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker question may be issued to the top teams after the Week 2 challenges have closed. Be sure to stay active and keep an eye on the updates!
