11/1/1309 Abstract:This collection consists of records from the Office of Public Affairs as collected by Robert T. Marlett. The records found in the collection have been divided into three series: the papers of Robert T. Marlett, files of Office of Public Affairs Directors James DeSantis and Harry R. Jackson, and files related to publicity of the University at Buffalo’s 125th anniversary.
The papers of Robert T. Marlett consist of correspondence spanning much of his career at UB. Included in these files is correspondence with staff of the Office of Public Affairs and its predecessors, and correspondence with printers contracted to print UB’s publications. Also included are Marlett’s files on the dedication of Baird Point, the reception for the exhibit Leonardo’s Return to Vinci, a report on land owned by the Faculty Student Association and the “Perceptions of UB” focus group report.
The files of the Office of Public Affairs Directors James DeSantis and Harry R. Jackson deal primarily with topics related to the UB Council. Dated 1969-1987, these files contain correspondence related to UB Council meetings (1984-1985), UB Council resolutions and files regarding members of the UB Council. The files regarding UB Council members include William C. Baird, Frank N. Cuomo, Harriet W. Fogan, Seymour H. Knox, John F. Kopczynski, M. Robert Koren, Robert I. Millonzi, James F. Phillips, Joan K. Robinson, Rose H. Sconiers, John N. Walsh and Philip B. Wels.
The files on the 125th anniversary of the University at Buffalo relate to publicity for events marking the anniversary, the script for a 125th anniversary video, and historic information supplied by the University Libraries, Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Social Science and Administration and Division of Athletics for a 125th anniversary T.V. Special.
