Janina Brutt-Griffler joined the faculty of the University at Buffalo's Graduate School of Education in 2005 as an associate professor. She was promoted to full professor three years later. Brutt-Griffler served in a number of administrative roles at UB including associate dean for curriculum and global initiatives, chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy and associate dean for international education and language programs.
