The UB Libraries and UBIT Services have a limited number of laptops for loan to students each semester.

Undergraduate Students: Please inquire at the 2nd floor Equipment Loans Desk in Silverman Library.

UB Laptop Loan Program Retires December 2025

As the laptop loan program ends, fewer laptops will be available for semester loans. Priority will be given to students with financial aid needs. Please plan to have a backup option in case you are not selected for the program.

Loan Period

Laptops must be returned at the end of each semester.

Laptop Loan

  • Due date for laptops will be toward the end of Final Examinations. Please check your library account for the exact due date as this can change from semester to semester.
  • To avoid long lines, please do not wait until the last day to return laptops.
  • All laptops must be loaned and returned at the Silverman Library Service Desk.
  • Students must return the loaner and all components in the same condition as it was received. The borrower will be responsible for any damages or for lost or stolen equipment.
