9/9/00-1 Abstract:The Argus (1947-1950) was established as an alternative to The Bee newspaper by a group of more “liberal, progressive” students. Editorial warfare intensified by 1950 to such an extent that funding was withheld from both papers. In the same year a new newspaper, the Spectrum, began publication.
