Land (Adelle H.) Papers, circa 1931-1968


Abstract:

Professional papers, primarily extensive documentation of the unified program in teacher education, the Graduate Professional Unit, developed and taught by Dr. Land at the University of Buffalo, 1931-1968. Also includes notes, correspondence, and papers from her doctoral work at Teachers' College, Columbia University, 1932-1937, and other materials reflecting her career as a progressive educator and early advocate of preparation for teaching in higher education. Material also includes Army Air Force training course material, progressive school information, class lists and assignments, committee information, professional reports, correspondence, typescripts of works, radio scripts of "Human Nature in Action," information on Pi Lambda Theta, AAUP, ITEPSST, reports on graphology, personal memorabilia and notes. Also includes information on Daniel Bell Leary and William Chandler Bagley (Columbia University), correspondence with Carter Alexander (Teachers' College).
