The manuscript is a sheet of blue-lined graph paper, torn from a notebook, the top edge of which is ragged, which is identical to MSS VIII.A.6.g, 6.h and 6.i, with writing in black ink on the recto only, not in Joyce’s hand.

The sheet measures 16.3 x 10.4 cm.

The manuscript consists of a copy of an as yet unidentified Greek news article, presumably entitled "The Flag of Warships," translated below into English, presumably not by Joyce.

The article was probably published on 12 October 1916.
