About LINKT

LINKT Vision

LINKT provides expert staff, and technology to allow UB faculty and students to explore their intellectual curiosity through a variety of mediums. Additionally, LINKT focuses on reinforcing the current instructional support needs of faculty, adjunct faculty, and teaching assistants in direct collaboration with CATT and UBIT.

LINKT Mission

LINKT provides infrastructure for faculty, students, and instructional designers to explore the latest technologies, innovative learning models, emerging pedagogies and media-rich experiences while fostering collaboration among like-minded campus groups.

In collaboration with CATT and UBIT, LINKT is best equipped to bridge the gap between pedagogy and instructional technology in an immediate and applied way. LINKT provides direct assistance with applied learning technologies for both UB students and faculty including:

  • Digital, media and information literacy competencies
  • Immersive technologies
  • Professional quality outcomes through advanced production techniques and facilities

LINKT resolves long standing service issues specific to adjunct faculty and other underserved instructors (teaching assistants).

LINKT provides personal and direct support, especially with enterprise instructional applications (Zoom, new LMS, and plagiarism tools).

LINKT Background

In Fall 2020, senior leadership from the VP for Academic Affairs, UB IT (IT), and the Libraries agreed to a mutually beneficial strategic partnership to avoid redundancies, harness staff expertise across units, and create innovative models of support to faculty and students related to technology and online learning. The first collaborative effort was Teach Anywhere.

The UB Libraries’ internal instructional support teams joined together to create LINKT [Libraries, INstruction, Knowledge, Technology].
