The University at Buffalo Libraries are committed to supporting research, learning, and engagement for a broad community of users. However, access to electronic resources is governed by licensing agreements that limit how and where these materials can be used.
Off-campus access to subscription-based electronic resources is restricted to current University at Buffalo students, faculty, and staff.
Our agreements with publishers and content providers specify that access to these resources is limited to authorized users only. These licensing terms are legally binding and part of the University’s institutional subscriptions.
Extending off-campus access to alumni or visitors would violate these agreements and could result in penalties, including the loss of access for all authorized users.
Alumni and visitors may access many electronic resources while physically present in University Libraries locations.
Guests can access article databases and electronic journals on campus at the University Libraries by obtaining a Library Research Station Access account at any Library Services Desk. Users must present photo identification and must agree to abide by all University policies when applying for this account. The account is valid for one year.
If you already have a Courtesy or Visitor Borrower card, you do not need a Library Research Station Access account.
