UB Laptop Loan Program

The University at Buffalo has a limited number of laptops for loan to students each semester. All questions about the program can be directed to media-services@buffalo.edu.

Technical Support

  • It is highly recommended that you use UBbox to access and save files. Box Drive is installed on the laptop.
  • Avoid saving files on the loaner computer. Desktop Support and ITS are not responsible for data files saved to the computer. Desktop Support will wipe the computer upon its return.
  • UB Libraries/UBIT will not assume responsibility for lost files due to viruses, hardware failure or network interruptions.

In addition to the free, 128Gb of storage on your UBbox account, there are other numerous inexpensive ways to back up your data to external sources including CD-RW, flash (USB) drives, external drives, and other online (cloud) backups.
