Duplicate Partial Composite First and Complete Second Typescripts of the "Ithaca" (17) Episode (1921)1
Material Description and Collation
The manuscript consists of 26 loose sheets of thin typing paper, including 2 blank pages (pp. [10] and [20]), with no additions. All of the pages are double-spaced typewritten purple ink bottom (carbon) copies and all the versos are blank. All of the pages were typed with yet another (third) typewriter, with a blue top ribbon (see CSE 1889).
Measurements
The sheets measure approximately 26.8 x 20.7 cm.

The manuscript consists of partial duplicate copies of the first and second typescripts of the "Ithaca" episode. The copies of the first typescript were prepared from the revised Rosenbach "Ithaca" I ("blue") and II ("green") copybooks: pp. [11]–[19] from the Rosenbach "Ithaca" I copybook, pp. "10"–"17" (rectos and versos) and pp. [21]–[26] from the Rosenbach "Ithaca" II copybook, pp. "16"–"21" (rectos and versos). The copies of the second typescript were prepared from the corresponding revised pages of the first typescript (see MS V.B.15.c). The text on the page is as follows:

Dating
The first and second typescripts of the episode were prepared in October 1921 in Paris.
Other Markings
On p. [10], "rien" enclosed in circle was written, all in pencil.
Publication
Only pp. [10] and [14]–[17] of the manuscript have been reproduced in black and white photo-facsimile on JJA 16.090, 097, 100, 107 and 113.
Notes
There are no perforations on any of the sheets, but there are traces of metal paper clips on pp. [1]–[3], [10], [19], [20] and [26]. The sheets were folded in the center vertically and horizontally.
- Although this manuscript should be designated "V.B.15.d," Spielberg’s designation has been retained.
