Material Description and Collation
The manuscript consists of 28 loose sheets of thin typing paper, watermarked "LINEN PAPER | LAFUMA BERTHOLET & NAVARRE | VOIRON", with no additions or corrections. All of the pages are double-spaced typewritten purple ink top (original); all the versos are blank.
Measurements
The sheets measure approximately 26.8 x 20.8 cm.

The typist numbered the pages in the upper right corner; see Contents .

Dating
This third typescript of the episode was prepared in November 1921 in Paris.
Other Markings
There are printers’ signatures on pp. [10], [15], [21] and [25] and printers’ markings on pp. [3], [4], [9], [10], [14], [15], [21] and [25], all in pencil. There is printers’ marking in blue crayon on p. [14]. The word "rien" was written in pencil and circled in pencil in the upper margin on p. [27].

Notes
The sheets were folded in the center vertically and horizontally. Traces of metal paper clips appear on pp. [6v], [7v], [22v], [27].
- Although this manuscript should be designated "V.B.15.f.i," Spielberg’s designation has been retained.
