Material Description and Collation
The manuscript consists of 8 sheets of thin wove paper, printed on only on one side in black ink (that is, the title and initial capital are not printed in red ink as in the published work); the pages are machine trimmed on all sides. There are no corrections or revisions.
Measurements
The sheets measure 26.9 x 20.0 cm.
Pagination
The sheets are not paginated, but are numbered "14"–"21" in the lower margin in lead pencil in an unidentified hand.

The manuscript is an unmarked copy of a previously undocumented actual first setting of proofs of the "The Ondt and the Gracehopper" for Tales Told of Shem and Shaun (Paris: Black Sun Press, June 1929; Slocum and Cahoon A36). See Tales Told of Shem and Shaun, pp. 44–55 as well as FW 414.22–419.10.

This manuscript should be listed as III.1C.5, which means that Yale MS 9.9 (JJA 57.353–360) is in fact the second setting and should therefore be III.1C.6, and then all the subsequent documents for the "The Ondt and the Gracehoper" should be listed as a level +1.

The manuscript is undated but was set in April 1929.
