** X.B.1 [IX.B.2.]: Miscellaneous Manuscripts: Errata for Dubliners (1917)
The manuscript consists of 2 sheets of double-spaced typewritten black ribbon top (original) copies, watermarked “EXCELSIOR | SUPERFINE | BRITISH MAKE”; the versos are blank.
The heading “DUBLINERS. | Misprints.” is typed at the top of p. [1].
The manuscript measures 26.0 x 20.2 cm.
The typist numbered p. [2] “- 2 –” but p. [1] is not numbered.
This typescript is an errata list for Dubliners, based on Joyce’s holograph list of “Dubliners | Misprints” (now in the Slocum Joyce Collection, Beinecke Library, Yale University, 2.11) from the first edition of Dubliners (London: Grant Richards Ltd., 1914).
The typescript was prepared in 1917 (see LII 392–95; also Slocum and Cahoon, pp. 134–135 and Dubliners, edited by Hans Walter Gabler with Walter Hettche [New York: Garland Publishing, 1993], pp. 20–21).
This manuscript has not been reproduced but another, annotated copy appears on JJA 4.562–563.
There is a single perforation through the top left margin of each sheet, through which they were once fastened together. The fastener is no longer with the manuscript. The sheets were folded once horizontally.
