VIII.A.6.a: Other Notebooks: Miscellaneous Zurich Notes: Greek Grammar Notes (1916)
The manuscript is a faintly ruled sheet of tan stationery, which is identical to MSS VIII.A.6.b and 6.c, with writing in lead pencil on both sides and corrections in black ink on the recto. The manuscript is not in Joyce’s hand.
The sheet measures 26.9 x 21.0 cm.
The manuscript consists of vocabulary of Greek phrases and an alphabet on the recto and the declension of nouns on the verso.
The contents do not provide evidence of when this manuscript was written, but it was probably in 1916 as part of Joyce’s exercises in Greek.
This manuscript has been reproduced in black and white photo-facsimile on JJA 3.288–289.
The sheet was folded in the center horizontally and vertically. There are black ink stains on the recto and verso.
