VI.E.6.a [VI.B.50.a]: "Work in Progress"/Finnegans Wake Manuscripts: Notes and an Addition for Finnegans Wake III.2 (1928):
The manuscript is a loose sheet of Joyce’s stationary, watermarked "Anes Mres Canson & Montgolfier | THE STRONGEST PAPER", with writing on both sides of the sheet in Joyce’s hand in black ink and lead pencil. This is the same kind of paper as MSS VI.E.6.b, VI.I.36, and I.39.
The manuscript measures 26.8 x 20.7 cm.
On the recto, Joyce wrote a partially accurate Latin version of Ecclesiasticus in lead pencil and an addition for III.2 (see FW 470.12–21), all in black ink; on the verso, Joyce wrote a further text in black ink that he did not use in Finnegans Wake (JJA 40.xviii and xix).
Not recorded as such by the JJA; see III.2C.11+.
Joyce probably wrote this manuscript in early June 1928.
Joyce’s address, "2, Square Robiac | 192 rue de Grenelle", is printed in blue ink in the lower left corner of the verso (as the sheet was used).
The manuscript has been reproduced in black and white photo-facsimile on JJA 40.342–343.
