Material Description and Collation
The manuscript consists of 18 sheets of tan typing paper. All of the pages are double-spaced typewritten black ink bottom (carbon) copies; all the versos are blank. There are corrections and additions in Joyce’s hand on pages, except on pp. [21], [27], [28], [31], [35], [36] and [37].
Measurements
The sheets measure approximately 27.0 x 21.0 cm.
Pagination
The sheets were paginated "112"–"129" in the left margin in pencil and pp. [2]–[18] were also paginated by typist "1"–"17" in the upper right corner
Contents
The manuscript is a typescript of the "Circe" episode, comprised of only bottom copies of what were at least 3 complete typescripts (a top copy, none of which survive, and 2 bottom copies), of which 2 partial, other copies survive (Buffalo MSS V.B.13.e and 13.h). This typescript was prepared from the scribal version of the Rosenbach manuscript (faircopy) version of the episode (MS V.B.13.d.4–9). The typescript was revised by Joyce, who also made most of the emendations on the corresponding pages of the other copies of the typescript. It is continued from MS V.B.13.g.2 and is concluded on MS V.B.13.g.4. The text on the pages is as follows:
