The manuscript is a sheet of unlined rolled paper; single-spaced top (original) black ribbon copy, with corrections in Joyce’s hand in black ink.

The manuscript measures 27.3 x 21.1 cm.
Contents
The manuscript instructs Beach to emend a copy of the typescript for the printer of This Quarter. See This Quarter 110.27, 112.04, 112.05–06, 112.43–113.01, 113.17, 113.26, 113.27, 114.30 and 116.13 as well as FW 172.21, 174.26, 174.27–28, 177.05–06, 177.24, 177.33, 177.34, 180.06 and 182.30, 177.34, 180.06 and 182.30).

Joyce made this emendation in the Summer of 1925 (possibly on 14 July).
Other Markings
There is an unrelated postscript, presumably addressed to Beach, in Joyce’s hand in black ink in the lower margin of the recto.
Notes
The manuscript was enclosed with MS X.C.78 but was only catalogued after the publication of JJSB. All the emendations were also made on the extant typescript (BL 47474, fs. 41, 43–46, and 48; JJA 47.453, 455–458, and 460) in Joyce’s hand; all but two of the emendations (see BL 47474, f. 76r and 76v; JJA 47: 474–475) were incorporated as directed by Joyce on this manuscript in the text of This Quarter (the proofs of which are missing).
